Wow when was the last time I updated this blog. It needs a much needed revival, and what a way to do so by starting the new year with a new entry. 2010 gone and 2011 here. Whats different? Not much but it can be if you choose to make it different.

Todays Sermon. Brilliant.

Its taken from Joshua 1 and it talks about the responsibility given to Joshua after Moses died. OK so you might not know this story or you simply can't remember. But the whole lesson point for today is that God is STRONG when we are weak. He finds out lowest point and makes them strong for his glory as we rely more on him. Ever wondered why you have low/troubled/ill times in life? Maybe God just wants you to rely more on him. To rely on this power that no one else has but him. We can have absolute certainty in his supernatural power. (v2).

DREAM BIG DREAMS OF HOW HE CAN USE US (v3-5)

OK so if you jump over to Ephesians 6 v12, it talks about having two weapons of defence.

1. SWORD OF THE SPIRIT

This means to know your message. Do you think you know the bible well enough and you ought to, in order to be able to share it with others? Perhaps a New year's resolution?

2.PRAYING WITH THE SPIRIT

God says that he wrestles with the evil spirits when you pray.

So what are we going to use these weapons for you might ask? Well, just when you seek to get your friends or family to Christ but you just can't imagine them turning to Christ. It says that they are blinded from the Glory of God.

The only way you can get your friends or family to Christ is by constant PRAYER. Never give up!! Up till today I have never thought of praying as throwing a holy dynamite in them. Every time you pray, a holy dynamite is thrown in, and just one day at the right time, the holy Spirit will be revealed to them and they will explode to finally see the GLORY OF GOD.

So pray specifically and by name!

Be continually filled with God's Word!

''Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1 v9

God speaks to those who take time to listen, and He listens to those who take time to pray.

I haven't blogged here for ages. Well since the last time I did, I have really grown stronger in my faith and closer towards God. Well at least thats how I feel. But he has tremendously worked in my life to make me a better person for myself and towards others too. He has faithfully and so very gently lifted me up to tell me that I needed to grow stronger in him. I continue to pray for this sense of eagerness to want to know him more.

Recently, well for the pass 3 weeks? I have been attending daily prayer meetings ( mini bible study). We have done books of 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Jude and now doing James. Its been quite an interesting journey. I never knew I could read the bible in a whole new light. One that shines upon its interesting factor and realistic factor. Everything in the bible really speaks the truth and it is amazing how even though it was written SO many years ago, it still readily applicable to our lives.

1 John 1: We learnt that this letter that John wrote was to reassure us Christians of our faith we have in him. To walk with him and enjoy his fellowship. We should walk in the light and away from darkness. Darkness in this case meaning falsehood or false teachings. When you walk in darkness you walk without God. John was trying to warn us about false teachings. Teaching us on how we had to be honest and transparent before God. Confessing before him and opening our hearts to him.

1 John 2: We should set ourselves apart from this world. We are not of this world and should not conform to the world. We should set our eyes upon the ultimate goal that will make us achieve the eternal life we long for and hope for. We must not have the desires of the flesh, eyes and pride. We cannot serve two masters at the same time.

1 John 3: We must LOVE one another. We love because he first love us. This was an old command but yet John said it is a new commandment, only because we now know how to express this love through the works we witness through Jesus. By the Holy Spirit that he has given us we believe in his name and love one another and to obey him.

this is just abit of it....

What is the true meaning of Christmas?

Christmas or Xmas?

Christmas is having Christ among us and not just about presents and festive moods we receive. Although is is nice and exciting. Christmas is special because it reminds us of the Lord coming down in human form to come dwell amongst us, to demonstrate his love and to show others what anyone should be. A life sinless. Although we cannot be sinless, we ought to try. Christmas is the time for you to consider if you would want to receive this gift. The gift unwrapped to reveal Godsend son and his LOVE for us. Love might be a really difficult thing to convey or understand especially if it is LOVE from God where you cannot physically see it or feel it. But he Loves us in such a way that he loves everything about you, and he tries in every way to get you to acknowledge him and for you to reply on him. Think about how much you can handle alone, surely you need some one to support. Are you willing to receive the greatest gift of all time?

Jesus began His search-and-rescue operation on earth by His life, death, and resurrection. He continues it today through the power of the Holy Spirit, and He graciously invites us to participate with Him by loving those who are lost. — David C. McCasland
